If your PC often shows complex indications, or displays an error message, emits continuous beeps or irregular beeps, the PC is most likely in trouble, I'll give it a try.
Tips and solutions to solve these problems and get your PC working again as usual. Problems or damage that occurs are usually categorized into 2 types of damage, namely: Hardware and Software problems or damage
Types of Damage Can be categorized into 2 categories, namely:
1. Damage to Hardware (Hardware)
2. Damage to Software (Software)
1. Damage to Hardware
Problems with hardware components need serious handling because they are difficult to localize and get rid of without the right tools, expertise and support experience. The explanation will revolve around the problems that often occur along with how to solve them.
Damage to the power supply
Symptoms :
After turning on the PC does not react, there is no display on the monitor, no indicator light (led) is lit, the power supply fan does not rotate, the indicator light on the monitor does not turn on.
Solutions :
Check whether the cable is connected properly and the plug is properly attached to the socket, also check whether there is an on/off button behind the Power Supply, which is already in the On position.
If you are sure it is installed correctly but there is still no response to make sure, please replace the power cable with one that you believe is good. The problem occurs because there is no incoming voltage, the damage is on the power cable.
Problem :
After turning on the PC does not react, there is no display on the monitor, no indicator light (led) is lit, the power supply fan does not rotate, the indicator light on the monitor is lit.
Solution :
Do like the steps above, but if there is still no response, it means the problem is with the Power Supply, please replace the PS, I suggest you just replace the damaged Power Supply with a new one, and be careful in its installation.
Note: If the damage is only on the Power Supply, after you replace it, the computer will return to work normally. Unless there are problems with other components such as the Mother Board, VGA Card and Memory.
Damage to the Mother Board
Symptoms :
After turning on, there is no display on the monitor, the indicator light (led) on the front panel is on, the monitor indicator light (led) is blinking, the power supply fan and processor fan are spinning, there is no beep sound on the speaker.
Solution :
The first step is to remove all power cables connected to electricity, data cables to the monitor, keyboard/mouse cables, and all cables connected to the CPU, then remove all cashing cover screws.
In an open case, please remove the other components, namely the voltage cable from the power supply that is connected to the motherboard, hard drive, floppy, be careful not to rush the process.
Likewise with the card attached to the Mboard (VGA, Sound or other Card). Now the only thing that sticks to the cashing is the MotherBoard. Please check the Motherboad carefully, see Chip (IC), Elko, Transistor and others, if there is something burned.
If there are no signs of a burnt component, the motherboard is probably still good, but there are times when the motherboard doesn't work because of a malfunction in the program in the BIOS.
Symptom :
When the CPU is turned on then do the Post process after that the process does not continue and is silent for a while not directly entering the operating system, and then on the monitor screen there is a message "hard disk error, hard disk Failur, after that the message "press F1 to continue" appears after we pressing the F1 key does not enter the operating system and the message “Operating system not found” appears.
- Damage to the hard disk
Solution :
Check the voltage cable and data cable that goes into the hard drive is loose, should be tightened, then turn it on and try to listen to whether the sound coming out of the hard drive is normal, if not normal means the hard drive is damaged in the controller.
Symptom :
When the CPU is turned on then do the Post process after that the message "Operating system not found".
Solution :
There is a possibility that the operating system is damaged, can be overcome by reinstalling or if your OS uses windows 2000/XP there is a repair facility. or there is also a possibility that your hard drive is not detected and do the steps above
hard disk bad sectors
Solution :
There are several factors that cause bad sectors including unstable electricity voltage, sudden power outages often occur, after usage is not shot down, prolonged use,
there are 2 types of bad sectors, namely physical and software…..To overcome this, there are several ways, including using software to remove bad sectors….Further changes are in the ebook. Computer repair methods and you can get them if you join as an Active Member.
Damage to CD/DVD/ROM/RW & Floppy Disk
Symptoms :
Common types of damage:
1. Not detected in windows
2. Can't get in and out of CD
3. Can't read/write/can only read. (CD)
4. Can't read/write/write protect (Floppy disk)
Solution :
1. Check the data cable and the voltage cable that goes into the CD-floppy, check in the bios setup, have they been detected? should be set to auto. Check if the led is on, if not the controller is faulty.
2. The damage is to the motor mechanic or the rubber motor.
3. Damage Usually on the optics, but there is a possibility that it can still be repaired by resetting the optics.
4. Dirty Head, can be cleaned using Cutenbud (you can find the complete steps above in the e-book "Fast and accurate computer repair method" and you can get it if you join as a member of repaircomputers.com
BIOS problem
Symptom :
Be careful in updating the bios, when updating you choose the wrong version of the bios, the PC doesn't work, you can't even enter the BIOS.
Solution :
Usually updates cannot be canceled, only certain types of motherboards have a BIOS backup on their chip, there is stored the original type of BIOS that cannot be deleted, to be able to restore it you just have to move the special jumper position which usually has instructions in the manual.
Then turn on the PC and wait 10 seconds, the original BIOS has been restored, return the Jumper Position to its original position, and the PC is ready to run again.
If the motherboard does not have this facility, the BIOS chip must be sent to the manufacturer, you can see the BIOS type in the manual. Be careful in the installation not to break the legs of the BIOS IC or reverse its position.
Symptom :
The CPU emits several beeps in the speakers and there is no display on the monitor screen, even though the monitor is not a problem.
Solution :
The beep sound indicates a certain error message from the BIOS, the sound indicates what type of error has occurred on the PC, usually an error in the memory that is not detected, the VGA card, which is not installed properly, the processor and even the monitor data cable can be the cause. Please check the problem.
Here's the BIOS error message:
BIOS error sounds usually not all motherboards indicate the same error depending on the type of BIOS.
[AMI BIOS]
Beep 1x : RAM/Memory is not installed properly or damaged, Beep 6x : Gate A20 error - Indicates a faulty keyboard or IC Gate A20 itself, Beep 8x : Graphic Card / VGA Card is not installed properly or is damaged, Beep 11x : Checksum Error, check Bios Battery, and replace it with a new one.
[Award BIOS]
1x Long Beep: RAM/Memory is not installed properly or damaged, 1x Long 2x Short Beep: Damage to the Graphic Card (VGA), Check it can also be installed in the slot that doesn't fit (not entered), 1x Long 3x Short Beep: Keyboard is damaged or not installed. Continuous beep / continuous sound : RAM or Graphic Card is not detected.
Damaged / Weak CMOS Battery
Symptoms: A CMOS Checksum Vailure / Low Battery message appears, due to abnormal voltage supplying the CMOS/BIOS IC due to a weak battery, so that the BIOS settings return to their defaults/factory default settings, and the hardware configuration must be reset.
Solution : Immediately replace the battery
CPU that often hangs
Solution : There are several hanging factors including: There is a Bad Sector on the Harddisk, There is a Virus, There are problems in Hardware such as Dirty/Damaged Memory, Dirty/Damaged MBoard, Cooling Fan, the fan rotation is weak, Power Supply is not stable…..you should not force it to use because it will be more fatal, please contact us to be able to solve the problem
The computer often appears blue screen, what is the cause?
Solution : The Blue Screen message can be caused by a damaged windows system, it can be from memory, it can be from the hard drive, it can be from other components, depending on the blue screen message that is displayed.
Symptoms : The computer is slower than before, even though it wasn't slow at first
Solution : The cause of your computer's process is slow, there are several factors, namely: Hard disk space is too full, too many programs / software that take up hard disk space and memory, there are viruses, hard disk bad sectors.
